I.

II.

in 1997 Mike Tyson bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear in the third round of their rematch. Turns out, that is not a legal boxing move, and Tyson was disqualified.

III.

In 1985 the Brat Pack was in full bloom as St. Elmo’s Fire came out.

A little over a decade later teens came to see Demi Moore in a movie for a different reason, when Striptease came out in 1996.

IV.

in 2012 the Flaming Lips broke the Guinness World Record for most shows played within a 24-hour period. They played eight concerts, lasting about 15-20 minutes each, traveling by bus across the Mississippi Delta from Memphis to New Orleans.

V.

On this day in 1975, Captain & Tennille teamed up to let us know that “Love Will Keep Us Together”, which was no. 1 on the charts.
