Nerdy Trivia: June 3, 2025

Pasta, bread, mayonnaise, cake, cookies. Chickens have basically infiltrated the entire food supply. Eggs show up in so many foods that I'm grateful for whoever looked at the oval thing that fell out of a chicken and thought, "let's slap it on a bagel with some bacon and cheese." There may have been a few steps before that, but I'm no historian.

Brian De Palma's "The Untouchables" (1987) brought 1930s Chicago to life with machine gun shootouts, fedora-wearing gangsters, and enough dramatic tension to make you forget you're watching Kevin Costner try to out-tough Robert De Niro's Al Capone. It was an all-star cast with some rising stars, so when Oscar season rolled around, there was no shortage of contenders. Which actor took home the golden statue for their work in "The Untouchables"?
