Produced with Nile Rodgers’ slick sheen, it became her first Billboard 200 number one and is certified Diamond in the U.S. The title track spent six weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, “Material Girl” peaked at number two, and “Angel” and “Dress You Up” both reached the top five. Her wedding-dress crawl at the very first MTV Video Music Awards turned “Like a Virgin” into the face of the era.

Ah, Madonna. The Queen of Pop. The Material Girl. The woman who's been causing a commotion in the music world since the '80s. Love her or hate her, you can't deny she's been a lucky star in the pop culture zeitgeist for four decades.
