Happy National Mashed Potato Day!

I saw "National Mashed Potato Day" on my calendar and for a split second thought Thanksgiving had somehow snuck up on me, which sent me into a brief panic about whether I'd forgotten to buy a turkey. Turns out we can celebrate mashed potatoes any day we want. Plus, you get all the buttery, creamy goodness without having to sit through dry turkey and cranberry sauce from a can.

What type of plane is used in "Airport 1975"?

"Airport 1975" threw Karen Black into the cockpit of a massive commercial airliner after a midair collision killed most of the crew and blinded the captain. What followed was one of the more absurd (and profitable) disaster films of the 1970s, complete with Charlton Heston dangling from a helicopter to save the day and Gloria Swanson playing herself as an aging diva. The film's producers needed a serious piece of aviation hardware to make their sky-high drama believable. What type of plane served as the star of "Airport 1975"?

Retro Rewind: On This Day

58 years ago TODAY, Hollywood rolled out the bamboo carpet when “The Jungle Book” and “Charlie, the Lonesome Cougar,” premiered at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in 1967! The event was also a fundraiser for the brand-new Los Angeles Zoo. As for "The Jungle Book," it rolled out to the rest of the country over the next couple of months and became a box-office smash, with re-releases pushing its U.S. total to about $142 million and making it the studio’s top animated hit for stretches in the ’70s and ’80s. The film was the last animated feature overseen by Walt Disney, and its signature tune “The Bare Necessities” earned an Academy Award nomination. Do you remember the name of the tiger in "The Jungle Book"?
