What is Siouxsie Sioux's birth name?

▼
Correct Answer: Susan Janet Ballion
(Source)The girl who would terrorize stages across the world with her banshee wails and gothic theatrics started out as Susan Janet Ballion, a name that sounds like it belongs to someone who might work in a library or teach primary school rather than command a punk audience. Born in 1957, Ballion grew up in suburban London before discovering the Sex Pistols and deciding that regular life wasn't going to cut it. She came up with her stage name in 1976 while assembling a band, and within the same month they performed at the 100 Club Punk Special alongside the Sex Pistols. As Siouxsie Sioux (pronounced Soo-zee Sue), she captured punk's spirit of reinvention and inspired everyone from Morrissey to Björk. And you have to admit, "Susan and the Banshees" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
