Question

What were the first words ever said in a non-silent film?

▼
The answer is: Wait a minute ... you ain't heard nothin' yet. We’re coming up on 100 years of “talkies” and the very first words we heard really set the stage for movies going forward. I mean, we couldn’t write it better ourselves! Those first few words were uttered by Al Jolson in 1927's The Jazz Singer. Granted, this was still before we could do more than a few scenes at a time with matching audio, but you can bet it blew the stockings off everyone in the theater.Source
