Which Pokémon was the first to be designed by Game Freak?

The armored rhinoceros Pokémon Rhydon was the first creature designed by Game Freak's art team while developing the original games in 1990. While it's listed as number 112 in the Pokédex, this grumpy rhino actually predates the "god of all Pokémon" Arceus, the "ancestor" Mew, and even the iconic starter Bulbasaur.
