Finish the lyric: "Some'll win, some will lose / Some..."

Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" has become the ultimate sing-a-long anthem that turns strangers into best friends at karaoke bars and sporting events. Steve Perry's soaring vocals delivered one of rock's most optimistic messages about chasing dreams and never giving up. The track builds to an unforgettable chorus where Perry reminds us that while some people will achieve their dreams, others face different fates. What comes after "Some'll win, some will lose / Some..."?

Correct Answer: Are born to sing the blues
(Source)I'll address the elephant in the room right away, regardless of the answer, every single Journey vocalist could benefit from a little more enunciation on that line. I don't care if you're listening to Steve Perry, Steve Augeri, or Arnel Pineda, none of them have settled the debate between "Some are" and "Some were" but I'm in the "some are" camp. The complete lyric is "Some are born to sing the blues," and it perfectly captures the song's theme about accepting that not everyone gets the fairy tale ending, but finding hope anyway. "Don't Stop Believin'" hit number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981, and while its presence in pop culture feels inescapable, it wasn't always that way. By 2005, the song was only certified Gold, but it had a renaissance thanks to "The Sopranos" finale in 2007 and the 2009 series premiere of "Glee." Today, it's certified 18x Platinum and is the best-selling digital download from the 20th century. The late supermassive success feels a little on the nose for a song called "Don't Stop Believin'."
