28 years ago AND 22 years ago TODAY, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore proved they were a rom-com power couple when “The Wedding Singer” and “50 First Dates” hit theaters in 1998 and 2004, respectively!
First they went full ’80s in “The Wedding Singer,” with a brokenhearted wedding singer and a waitress engaged to the wrong guy, then they reunited in Hawaii for “50 First Dates,” where a woman with short term memory loss has to fall for the same guy over and over again. Both movies were box office hits and cemented them as one of the defining on-screen rom-com duos of their era, complete with an MTV Best On Screen Team win for “50 First Dates.”
