37 years ago TODAY, Mike Myers clocked in for "Saturday Night Live" in 1989, and then clocked out exactly six years later in 1995!

In between, he turned SNL into his personal sandbox, rolling out Wayne Campbell in the basement, Dieter on "Sprockets," Linda Richman on "Coffee Talk," and a whole gallery of characters built on accents, catchphrases, and oddly specific obsessions. By the time that six-year run was up he had an Emmy for writing, a surprise box-office smash with "Wayne’s World," and the kind of SNL legacy where you can still hear “schwing” or “verklempt” in your head on command.
