30 years ago TODAY, every PC suddenly had the same illegal-looking folder when Duke Nukem 3D’s shareware episode dropped in 1996!

Version 1.0 was free to pass around and only included the first episode, “L.A. Meltdown,” which was more than enough to hook you with mutants, movie one-liners, and levels that actually felt like places instead of hallways.

For some, it might be hard to believe that the year 1973 was over 50 years ago. For others, it's hard to believe much of anything because they lived through the '70s and frankly there's just not much left upstairs, if you catch my drift.
