Nerdy Trivia: June 20, 2025

Don't believe the newsletter's sending time, I am not a morning person. So I'm grateful for today, when I can get to the beach at noon and still spend a work day's worth of time getting in a tan. Will my back and half of my face be lobster red because I fell asleep on my towel? Maybe. Probably. But the year's longest day only happens once a year (duh), so I'll squeeze in every hour of sunlight I can get!

You know what ticks me off? Great white sharks who don’t give a damn about the local economy and scare all the tourists away from the beach. "Jaws" is the film that put a young Stephen Spielberg on the map, and terrified a lot of kids into not bathing for weeks. It takes place in a quaint, small summer town on the shores of (recently) shark-infested waters. What was the name of that town?

There's no question that Walt Disney was a visionary — his vision was so strong that even though he wasn't around to see it, Walt Disney World was still seen to fruition after his death. Not only that, they opened several more parks on the land that he had gobbled up in Florida.
