Space Invaders finally gave people a reason to buy the Atari 2600. It's one of the first examples of a "killer app" on a console, and helped launch the golden era of video games. And while I'm sure Atari is happy to let people think the game was their own, they actually licensed it from someone else. What company created Space Invaders?

49 years ago TODAY, a brand-new arena-rock force hit the stage when Foreigner released their self-titled debut album in 1977!

Mick Jones and Lou Gramm loaded the band’s first album with instant classics like "Feels Like the First Time," "Cold as Ice," and "Long, Long Way from Home." There was enough polished hard-rock muscle to make the whole thing feel like a greatest-hits set right out of the gate. It was the sound of late-70s radio getting bigger, slicker, and way more dramatic.

If we're talking home video consoles based purely on bits, it's hard to argue with the sheer computing power that was the N64. Well, if you're comparing it to the original 8-bit NES, at least.
