Happy American Football Day!

Teddy Roosevelt might be known as the president who survived an assassination attempt and gave a speech before getting the bullet removed, but even for him, college football was too violent. He intervened in 1905 to demand that new rules be put in place. The result was things like the forward pass. So Tom Brady can thank Roosevelt for his record 7,753 forward pass completions.
