29 years ago TODAY, two legendary crews joined forces when Marvel released "Star Trek/X-Men #1" as part of its Paramount Comics imprint in 1996! The crossover comic united Captain Kirk and the original Enterprise crew with the X-Men as they faced Proteus (possessing Gary Mitchell) and Deathbird with her Shi'ar forces. The one-shot brought together Kirk, Cyclops, Wolverine and Spock, because space-age phasers and eye-beam lasers are a perfect combo.
