43 years ago TODAY, we got to go where everyone knew our name when “Cheers” premiered on NBC in 1982! Every week for 11 seasons, we joined Sam, Carla, and Norm (among others) at the bar to relax, have fun, and escape. Later seasons introduced us to Cliff, Woody and Rebecca. And of course, we met Frasier before he got his own show. Although ranking near last in viewership in its first season, the show went on to become a ratings and cultural juggernaut.
