How many actors have won two Golden Globes on the same night?

The Golden Globes wrapped up a few nights ago, and watching the ceremony probably reminded you that they hand out a LOT of acting awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association splits its acting awards by gender, genre, and medium. With all those extra categories floating around, someone has a way better shot at sweeping two awards in one ceremony than something like the Oscars. How many actors have won two Golden Globes for acting on the same night?

Correct Answer: 4
(Source)Most actors aren't juggling major film and television projects in the same year, which is part of why this is so rare. It took 46 years and over 70 failed attempts for anyone to pull it off, and that list of near-misses includes Ingrid Bergman, Paul Newman, Audrey Hepburn, and Dustin Hoffman. Sigourney Weaver finally cracked it in 1989 with wins for "Gorillas in the Mist" and "Working Girl," though her Best Actress trophy came with an asterisk since she had to share it in a three-way tie with Jodie Foster and Shirley MacLaine. Only three actors have joined her since: Joan Plowright in 1993, Helen Mirren in 2007, and Kate Winslet in 2009.
