Twisted Metal is getting its own ice cream flavor

It's the sweet treat we never knew we needed on a hot summer day — a scoop of ice cream inspired by a murderous, psychotic clown.

I'm not sure how many hours I spent just rolling around in Sweet Tooth's ice cream truck, trying to blow up my friends and AI alike without mercy — and with a huge grin on my face. Such was life when the first Twisted Metal video game came out on the very first PlayStation.

But let's say you saw an ice cream truck on the side of the road with a deranged-looking clown schlepping treats to kids. Would you buy something? Turns out, fans in select cities will have a chance to find out for themselves.

To help promote the upcoming live-action Twisted Metal series from NBC's streamer, Peacock, fans will have a chance to visit Sweet Tooth's iconic truck in real life.

According to a press release, Peacock will be partnering with Sony Pictures and beloved ice cream shop Salt & Straw to bring Sweet Tooth and his truck to the 2023 edition of San Diego's Comic-Con, as well as stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Des Moines, and Chicago starting on July 27.

Salt & Straw is even producing a limited-time flavor, "Sweet Tooth."

Look, I'm not going to say no to ice cream, but I'll definitely be keeping my eyes on that clown the whole time.

All 10 episodes of Twisted Metal are slated to release on July 27, 2023, on Peacock.
