It was shocking to me when I found out that Labyrinth wasn’t a box office smash. At least not in America, where it essentially bombed. But it found success abroad, I guess just because they're more sophisticated over there.
It’s a shame that his more experimental explorations didn’t really get the big public reception they deserved while Jim Henson was still alive. And imagine what the dude would do with the digital tools we have today.
He was one of those people who was simply brimming with creativity. It was inevitable that he would end up becoming the worldwide master of puppets — or was it? Before his big breakthrough came in the form of Sesame Street, he was considering doing something totally different. What was it?
