One of the greatest moments in communications technology history was the invention of the cordless phone. Stretching that curly phone line that attached the handset to the receiver became a thing of the past — not only could you now easily talk on the phone while making dinner, you could walk all over the damn house!
Well, at least part of the house, unless you had brick walls.
While car phones had been around for a fair amount of time, it wasn’t until well into the ‘90s that cellphones started popping up, usually in the hands of rich people. And it wasn’t even until 2007 that the iPhone was released. Of course, today literally everyone has a smartphone.
While we barely even use cellphones to speak to one another today, it all started with a single phone call. When was the first cellphone call made?
