Universal Fan Fest Nights Brings Comic-Con Vibes to Hollywood Backlot
It looks like Universal finally noticed all the love Comic-Con and D23 get and thought, "We have literal movie sets, why not use them?"
The new Universal Fan Fest Nights puts guests at Universal Studios Hollywood right in their favorite worlds - walk onto the Enterprise bridge (featuring an original set piece from "Star Trek: Picard"), ride a special Fan Tram to the actual Courthouse Square filming location from "Back to the Future," or take on cursed spirits from "Jujutsu Kaisen." Starting today, fans can grab tickets for the after-hours festival, which runs weekends from April 25 through May 18, 2025, mixing sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and anime in ways Universal hasn't tried before.
The Halloween Horror Nights creative team has developed original experiences that should feel familiar to any convention veteran. A massive "Dungeons & Dragons" installation features a towering Xanathar creature crafted by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. The Straw Hat Pirates from "One Piece" are hosting their own celebration. Even the Wizarding World is getting into the spirit with roaming magical creatures and a new nighttime show called "Hogwarts Always."
Super Nintendo World joins the party with its first-ever character addition since opening - Yoshi meet-and-greets will run throughout the event, accompanied by drone shows lighting up the night sky. Park regulars will find Mario Kart, Jurassic World and other attractions running during festival hours.
Universal's culinary team under Executive Chef Julia Thrash has developed themed food offerings to fuel fans through their evening adventures. Tickets start at $74, with options ranging from single-night admission to a comprehensive Ultimate Fandom Pass granting access to every event night. VIP packages include guided experiences and special dining perks.
