The easy way to tell an alligator from a crocodile is the snout. The alligator has a wide, rounded U shape, and the croc has a narrow V. And when an alligator shuts its mouth, the teeth tuck away while a crocodile leaves a bottom tooth poking out. Of course, by the time you're close enough to check the dental work, the answer stops being useful.

Who wrote the original “Watchmen” comic series?

I have lost whole nights to fan-made "who would win?" threads, and few names blow one up faster than Dr. Manhattan. Retro Rewind: On This Day

42 years ago TODAY, a Volkswagen Beetle and a Walther P38 squared off on a newsstand when "The Transformers" #1 hit shelves in 1984!

Marvel only signed on for a four-issue miniseries to sell some Hasbro toys, and the brawl between the heroic Autobots and the villainous Decepticons turned out to be a bigger deal than anyone planned. Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Megatron showed up fully formed, and the robots-in-disguise hook gave the whole thing a charge the action figures couldn't. The mini sold well enough that Marvel kept it going for 80 issues through 1991, and that throwaway tie-in became the backbone of a franchise still rolling out today.
