Ancient Egyptians worshiped cats as gods, and frankly, your cat still expects the same treatment.

Walk into any arcade today and you'll see the descendants of a revolution that started over 50 years ago. Back in the day, kids were pumping quarters into machines and skipping school just to land a high score on Pac-Man. But one game had to take that first step in technology and turn it into a giant leap for kidkind. What was the first arcade video game?

46 years ago TODAY, Marvel set its pages on fire when it published Uncanny X-Men No. 129 and launched the “Dark Phoenix Saga” in 1979! The issue itself was the first appearance of mutants Kitty Pryde, Emma Frost, and Sebastian Shaw. It was also the first time we saw the previously-only-mentioned Hellfire Club. The characters and events of both the single issue and the Dark Phoenix Saga overall are the building blocks of two movies: "X-Men: First Class" and "Dark Phoenix."

I frankly don't care if it was all a concoction to sell me toys — I loved the original '80s Transformers cartoon (and bought the toys, too).
