Happy World Octopus Day!

Octopuses can taste everything they touch through their tentacles, so they're constantly getting flavor updates while crawling around the ocean floor. Imagine tasting everywhere you walked? Just the thought of tasting the inside of my shoes makes me shudder. Do you know how many hearts an Octopus has?

NBC's late '80s sitcom "Empty Nest" became one of television's biggest surprises, running for seven seasons and ranking in the top 10 most-watched programs during its first three seasons. Retro Rewind: On This Day

44 years ago TODAY, we learned not all nostalgia can be viewed with rose-colored glasses when Mike Love dropped his debut album “Looking Back with Love” in 1981. As a certified Beach Boys lover and Mike Love hater, I have no qualms saying this album is proof that not everyone needs to pursue a solo career. And to be fair to him, after the album failed to make a splash, he didn't release another solo project for over 35 years. I'll give him credit for picking some good songs to cover ("On and On and On," "Be My Baby," "Calendar Girl"). He just didn't cover them well.

What year does the sequel to "2001

Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" ends with Dave Bowman getting sucked through a psychedelic wormhole and turning into some kind of space baby, and that's not even a spoiler because you'll still finish the movie wondering "what the hell just happened?" The 1968 film was based on short stories by Arthur C. Clarke, who also collaborated with Kubrick on both the screenplay and a novelization of the film. That's where Kubrick's involvement ended, but Clarke was only just getting started. He'd go on to publish three more books, and Hollywood adapted one. What year does this sequel to "2001: A Space Odyssey" take place?
