What’s the most someone has won on Jeopardy! in a single game?

Some people are just born with genius in their DNA. Mozart was born with an innate understanding of music. Rembrandt had a knack for art. And Merv Griffin was a master of creating game shows.
I don’t know that the creator of Jeopardy! would have expected the show to have such a long run or become such a cultural force — or make a few people a lot of money. But hell, it’s done all of those things. Who hasn’t played along and thought they could one day be on that stage buzzing in? That is, of course, until there’s an opera category, because I think they’re just making all of that stuff up.
Since its inception in 1964, across 40 seasons and over 9,000 episodes, a lot of cash has been handed out. What is the record for winnings from a single Jeopardy! game?

Correct Answer: $131,127
The answer is: $131,127. James Holzhauer came from a background as a professional gambler, so it’s not too shocking that his all-in approach netted him the biggest single-game total in Jeopardy! history. He remains annoyingly good at TV trivia.Source
