Born on October 9th, 1940, we probably really don’t need to explain much about John Lennon to you. He was in the Beatles, a monumental cultural force, an artist, an all-time great songwriter, and so much more.
But it’s hard not to think about all that Lennon could have still given the world had he not died in such a tragic fashion. Well over 40 years later, it’s still kind of a shock to even think about it. One of the coolest parts in the movie Yesterday is when the lead character visits a still-alive and aging John Lennon, who ends up spending his life as a little-known artist.

The answer is: Mark David Chapman. Mark David Chapman was a deranged fan who had even had Lennon autograph an LP of Double Fantasy. He later said he regretted the murder, but has been consistently denied parole. He’s still in prison to this day.Source
