Public radio voices are always calm, slightly amused, and pause for half a second longer than necessary before delivering a follow-up question. My family could never host a public radio show. We talk over each other, can't whisper, and within five minutes one of us would be yelling about our favorite sports team.

The tagline promised "the skill of gymnastics, the kill of karate," because, sure, why not? Kurt Thomas played a US gymnast recruited into The Game, a deadly contest in the kingdom of Parmistan, which somehow climaxes with a stone pommel horse conveniently sitting in a village square so Thomas can helicopter-kick a mob of escaped lunatics in the face.
