Originally intended as a cautionary tale based on the events unfolding in Europe, Casablanca ended up being released in January of 1943, right in the midst of World War II.
Yet it's really a timeless tale of unrequited love, which turns out can even happen in Morocco in the middle of a war.
It's also chock full of some of the most memorable moments in cinema, including several of the most quoted movie lines in history. Including this one. When was the last time you uttered this quote?

The answer is: "Play it once, Sam.". It's amazing how many classic lines we all remember being in a movie that are actually wrong. This is one such case.Despite the fact that "Play it again, Sam" is often used to reference Casablanca, it's never actually said in the film. There is only "Play it once, Sam"; "Play it, Sam"; and simply, "Play it."Source
