The Silver Surfer cruises through space on his cosmic surfboard looking like the universe's most stylish lost soul. This chrome-plated philosopher has the power to manipulate matter, travel faster than light, and contemplate existence while maintaining that perfect metallic glow. But all that cosmic power doesn't mean he's free. The Silver Surfer works for someone much bigger than himself. Which Marvel character does the Silver Surfer serve?
▼
Correct Answer: Galactus
(Source)Norrin Radd made the ultimate sacrifice when he agreed to serve Galactus, the cosmic entity who eats entire planets for breakfast. When Galactus arrived at Zenn-La ready to consume his peaceful home world, Norrin volunteered to become the world-eater's herald in exchange for sparing everyone he loved. Galactus transformed him into the Silver Surfer and sent him cruising around the universe scouting for suitable planets to devour. For nearly a century, the Surfer guided his master to world after world until he brought Galactus to Earth and met the Fantastic Four. The blind sculptor Alicia Masters helped him remember what humanity felt like, and he turned against his boss to protect our planet. Galactus responded to this cosmic betrayal by trapping the Silver Surfer on Earth with an invisible barrier, though he did let him keep his powers because even planet-eating gods can be surprisingly generous about severance packages.
