What is the name of the hotel featured on “Newhart”?

Bob Newhart went all in on cozy charm with his 80s sitcom “Newhart,” where a city guy ditched the loud life of television to run a quiet lodge in a tiny Vermont town full of characters who acted like the tourists were the weird ones. What was the name of the inn where Dick and Joanna Loudon welcomed guests and dealt with their increasingly bizarre neighbors?

Correct Answer: The Stratford Inn
(Source)As Dick Loudon, Newhart spent eight seasons running the Stratford Inn, which was supposed to be a quiet retreat from city life. Unfortunately for him, it was a magnet for the town's locals, who treated it like their personal living room. Throughout "Newhart," we met characters like Kirk, who couldn't tell a straight story to save his life and somehow worked as the local tour guide, and Larry, Darryl, and his other brother Darryl, who preferred grunting to actual conversation but still managed to show up whenever Dick least wanted company. The inn gave Newhart the perfect setup for his signature deadpan reactions to ridiculous situations. The show used the real Waybury Inn in East Middlebury, Vermont for exterior shots, and it still exists today, happily offering "Newhart" themed rooms for fans who want to experience a little of Dick Loudon's world without dealing with Kirk's tall tales.
