What is the name of the tiger in "The Jungle Book"?

Disney's 1967 "The Jungle Book" gave us Mowgli's adventures through an animated jungle packed with memorable characters, from the lovable bear Baloo to the sneaky snake Kaa. But the most terrifying resident of this cartoon wilderness was the film's main antagonist, a sleek Bengal tiger with a posh British accent and zero patience for humans wandering around his territory. What was the name of this menacing tiger?
▼
Correct Answer: Shere Khan
(Source)Shere Khan gets his name from the original Rudyard Kipling stories, where the author took inspiration from the 1500s Afghan Emperor Sher Shah Suri. For Disney's animated version, George Sanders provided the voice, bringing his trademark British sophistication to a character who was supposed to be the most feared predator in the jungle. Walt Disney personally handpicked Sanders for the part, and his natural ability to sound both charming and utterly dangerous made him irreplaceable. The animators even modeled Shere Khan's distinctive angular chin after Sanders' own facial features.
