What sport does Scott play in "Teen Wolf"?

Michael J. Fox had the ultimate star-making year in 1985, shuttling between "Back to the Future" and "Teen Wolf" like some sort of time-traveling workaholic. In "Teen Wolf," he plays Scott Howard, a painfully average high school kid whose only claim to popularity is playing for his school's spectacularly unsuccessful team, the Beavers. What sport does Scott play in "Teen Wolf"?
▼
Correct Answer: Basketball
(Source)Calling the Beavers a team is pretty generous considering they're dead last in their high school basketball league and losing by embarrassing margins. Fox's audition for the role became instant Hollywood legend when he stepped up for his first foul shot and completely whiffed it, missing what producer Scott Rosenfelt later described as "the basket by 100 feet." Everyone immediately panicked about building a basketball movie around someone who couldn't hit the broad side of a gym. The filmmakers scrambled to find a basketball player from Loyola Marymount who could serve as Fox's wolf-suited double for the trickier shots, though Fox did eventually nail those clutch free throws that win the championship game against the Dragons.
