What was Chuck Berry's only number-one song on the Hot 100?

John Lennon once said, "If you tried to give rock 'n' roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry.'" The Beatles covered him. The Rolling Stones covered him. Every guitar solo you've ever heard owes him something. The Billboard Hot 100 never got the message. What was Chuck Berry's only number-one song?

Correct Answer: My Ding-a-Ling
(Source)Chuck Berry was a headlining act at the 1972 Lanchester Arts Festival, sharing billing with names like Billy Preston and George Carlin. The crowd loved Berry so much that even when his set ran over, the audience ignored the promoter's pleas to clear out so they could set up for Pink Floyd. I don't blame the audience at all because only a few minutes earlier, they were all gleefully singing along to Berry's "My Ding-a-Ling." It was a simple song about a boy's... silver bells, but morality campaigners tried to get the live recording banned from the airwaves. Instead, teenagers did the only reasonable thing and sent it to the top of the charts.
