Ted Danson had an affair with which actress?

The "Cheers" finale was probably the best part of Danson's 1993. Behind the scenes his marriage was falling apart, and on the front page of the tabloids he was publicly dating his "Made in America" co-star, Whoopi Goldberg. The divorce was finalized that same year and cost him a reported $30 million. Then, for some bizarre reason, he showed up to Goldberg's Friars Club roast in October wearing blackface and delivered a speech shameful enough to cause people to walk out in protest. Goldberg had helped write some of the jokes and defended him, but the public pressure was too much and they announced their breakup a month later.
