What was the name of Crockett's alligator in "Miami Vice"?

Sonny Crockett lived the kind of life in "Miami Vice" that made regular cops wonder if they'd picked the wrong profession. The guy cruised around Miami in supercars, wore Armani suits without ties, and somehow managed to look cool while sporting a perpetual five o'clock shadow. His houseboat was a floating bachelor pad complete with all the excessive 1980s trappings you'd expect from a vice detective who spent his days infiltrating drug cartels. But even by Miami standards, Crockett's pet alligator raised a few eyebrows. What did the stylish detective name his toothy housemate?

Correct Answer: Elvis
(Source)The King of Rock and Roll got a reptilian tribute in the form of Crockett's scaly companion, who went by the name Elvis and lived right on the houseboat. He spent his days basking in the Florida sun and occasionally terrifying visitors who weren't expecting to encounter apex predators during their casual visits. Don Johnson reportedly got along well enough with his reptilian costar, though you have to imagine that relationship required a certain level of mutual respect given the whole "can bite your arm off" situation. The gator became less prominent as the series went on, and eventually Elvis found his way to a wildlife sanctuary where he could enjoy retirement without having to deal with film crews and visiting detectives.
