Some of you out there won't remember this, but there was a time when Apple had nothing to do with phones. Up until the release of the iPhone, Nokia was a power player, and for several years dominated the market.
But those, my friends, were what we refer to as "the dark ages", when minutes actually meant something.
Anyone who was alive during those times knows of Nokia, but when did the company actually come into existence?

The answer is: 1865. Nokie, a Finnish multinational corporation, was originally founded on May 12th, 1865 as a single paper mill operation. Over a century later, the company would become a pioneer in mobile phone technology. Nokia’s mobile phone business was sold to Microsoft in 2014. Source
