Correct Answer: Armed Forces Radio Service
(Source)Military radio might not sound like the most exciting wartime gig, but it kept hundreds of thousands of troops entertained and informed throughout Vietnam. When the film picks up the story in 1965, Adrian Cronauer shows up at Armed Forces Radio Service and immediately turns the station upside down with rock records, wild impressions, and a standup routine. It's a funny movie, but maybe don't watch it expecting historical accuracy. During production, Williams was banned from meeting the real Cronauer, so we ended up with a character that's about 95% peak Williams. Most of those iconic radio broadcast scenes were completely improvised, which is why they feel so manic and unpredictable. Even the real Cronauer joked that if he'd actually done what the movie showed, he would've been dragged off to Leavenworth.
