You say "Here's looking at you, kid" and everyone pictures Humphrey Bogart. You say "You can't handle the truth" and everyone can see Jack Nicholson looking like he's about to burst a blood vessel. There's a command from the late 1980s that has completely escaped its source, usually delivered to anyone who's spiraling and needs to get a grip. Which movie gave us the iconic line "Snap out of it"?
▼
Correct Answer: Moonstruck
(Source)At this point, I don't even think people know they're quoting Cher when they tell their friends to "Snap out of it." Cher plays Loretta, a Brooklyn widow who gets engaged to a perfectly nice, perfectly boring guy and then falls into bed with his estranged younger brother Ronny, played by Nicolas Cage. The morning after, when Ronny tells her he loves her, Loretta slaps him across the face (twice) and screams the line with enough force to land it at #96 on AFI's list of best movie quotes.
