Who holds the record for the most Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions?

Getting into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice means you were in a legendary band AND had a solo career worth recognizing on its own. It's happened 28 times, but one person's resume meant twice wasn't enough. Who holds the record for the most Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions?
▼
Correct Answer: Eric Clapton
(Source)If you guessed Paul McCartney, just know you're right in my heart. Eric Clapton is the only person inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame three times, first with The Yardbirds in 1992, then Cream in 1993, then as a solo artist in 2000. He's also technically eligible through four MORE bands, including Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominos, so the man might not even be done yet. Double inductees are part of "The Clyde McPhatter Club" but potential future triple inductees will be in "The Clapton Club." Gotta admit there's a nice ring to that.
