A very happy International Community Association Managers Day to all the Community Association Managers out there. It’s one thing to have a community association, but it really doesn’t work if there’s not someone there to manage it — and that’s true on a global scale … apparently.

I.

II.

On this day in 1995, Alanis Morisette released Jagged Little Pill. Despite the fact that she did not quite grasp the meaning of irony, that didn’t keep it from becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time, with over 33 million copies sold globally.

III.

In 1986, Rodney Dangerfield went Back to School. Somehow author Kurt Vonnegut makes a cameo, as does the band Oingo Boingo.

And in 1997, Disney’s animated Hercules hit theaters.

IV.

In 1993 Yokozuna upset Hulk Hogan to win the WWF Championship during King of the Ring.

V.

On this day in 1988, Paula Abdul released her debut album, Forever Your Girl. It had four no. 1 hits: “Straight Up,” the title track, “Cold Hearted” and the cartoon-live-action mash-up “Opposites Attract.”
