Actor Carl Lumbly (1951) was a Minnesota reporter covering a theater workshop when the company cast him instead, and he's been working ever since, from "Cagney & Lacey" to "Alias." He voiced Martian Manhunter on "Justice League" and turned up last year in "Captain America: Brave New World" and "The Life of Chuck."
Actress Jackée Harry (1956) taught American history at a Brooklyn high school, then landed Sandra Clark on "227" and became the first Black actress to win the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
