Singer-actor Rick Springfield (1949) scored an early hit with "Speak to the Sky" before "Jessie's Girl" took his crush on a friend's girlfriend to the top of the Hot 100 and won the Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. He had signed on as Dr. Noah Drake on "General Hospital" months before that No. 1, released "Automatic," and followed it with "Big Hits: Rick Springfield's Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" and its single "Lose Myself."
Actor Ray Park (1974) went from stunt doubling in "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" to spinning a double-bladed lightsaber as Darth Maul in "The Phantom Menace" and landing his first real speaking part as Toad in "X-Men." He suited up as Snake Eyes in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and put the horns back on as Darth Maul in "Solo: A Star Wars Story."
