In The Office, who filmed the shots of Scranton for the opening credits?
There's something about the opening credits for The Office (talking U.S. version, of course). As soon as you hear the piano and see those shots of Scranton, you just know that everything is going to be OK.
And while I always assumed the opening shots were either just stock footage or produced by the crew at some point, it turns out they were actually filmed by someone worthy of crafting a trivia question around it.

The answer is: John Krasinski . After booking the role of Jim, Krasinski traveled to Scranton with a friend for research. He got the shots in the intro by pointing his camera out the sunroof of a jeep. He said the only reason he was filming was because he was so excited to land the part. Series showrunner Greg Daniels paid him $1,000 for the footage.Source
