David Hasselhoff was "Baywatch's" star, executive producer, and the guy with the most to lose when the show's economics collapsed in the late '90s. Hawaii swooped in with a checkbook, a beach, and a contract clause renaming the show. It was Hasselhoff's last big lift on the show before he walked away.
