Nintendo’s original Game Boy had how much battery life?

For less than the original price of a Game Boy ($89.99), I now have a device that's preloaded with over 5,000 retro games, has a 4K screen, and that I can take anywhere I damn well please.
But while there were technically such things as mobile games, the Game Boy was the first device to actually make the experience enjoyable in a way people didn't even know was possible at the time (1989).
It wasn't backlit, it wasn't in color, and it was pretty heavy, but who the hell cared? You could play Tetris on it!
How long could you play on that original Game Boy before it'd tucker out?

Correct Answer: 30 hours
The answer is: 30 hours. The original Nintendo Game Boy had a remarkably long battery life, able to run for over 30 hours on just two AA batteries. The longevity was due to the fact that the screen had no backlight and only used four shades of gray. The original Game Boy, released in 1989, featured some impressive hardware, boasting more than four times the RAM of the original NES. Source
