Janet Jackson wasn't messing around when she dropped "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814" in September 1989. The album became a commercial powerhouse that broke multiple Billboard records, but just how many singles from "Rhythm Nation 1814" managed to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100?

Correct Answer: 4
(Source)After the success of "Control," she could have easily cranked out another batch of slick pop songs and called it a day. But that was never how any of the Jacksons approached music. So instead, we got a social statement that simultaneously dominated the charts in ways that still seem impossible today. Four singles from "Rhythm Nation 1814" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100. "Miss You Much" kicked things off in late 1989, "Escapade" and "Black Cat" both reached number one during 1990, and the final number one came with "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" in January 1991. Yes, that timespan also made the album the first in Billboard history to produce chart-toppers across three different calendar years.
