In King of the Hill, what does Hank Hill do for a living?

I think at this point we can all agree that Mike Judge is a comedic genius. You could take any of his productions on their own and make that case, but when you put them together — including Beavis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley, Office Space, and Idiocracy — it becomes an objective fact.
But King of the Hill might be the dark horse candidate for his best overall show. The animated sitcom featuring Hank, Peggy, and Bobby Hill navigating a changing world alongside their extended family and community is full of some of the most surprisingly funny comedy wrapped in approachability that you’ll ever see.
And at the helm of it all is patriarch Hank Hill. Between mentioning that his boy ain’t right and spending time drinking beers with his buds, he also often mentions his career. What does Hank Hill do for a job?

The answer is: Sell propane and propane accessories. Technically, Hank is an assistant manager at Strickland Propane, but I think we all know what that means. Whenever I need to get my hands on some propane or propane accessories, I can only hope to find someone even half as honest and trustworthy as Mr. Hill.Source
