What ancient alien race was involved in creating Xenomorphs?

If you've ever watched "Alien," you know those drooling, double-jawed nightmares weren't exactly created by Mother Nature's gentle hand. Since 1979 these perfect killing machines have both teased and terrified audiences just by sticking their tongues out. Which ancient race is believed to have created Xenomorphs as their ticket to galactic domination?
▼
Correct Answer: The Engineers
The exact origin of Xenomorphs stays as messy as they leave their prey, BUT the Engineers deserve most of the blame for this cosmic oopsie. These giant pale space "geniuses" showed up as a dead fossil in the first "Alien" movie, but we didn't get the full story until "Prometheus" hit theaters in 2012. Turns out when you create the perfect killing machine, maybe include an off switch before hitting the "make universe's worst nightmare" button.
