There are few things more satisfying than locking in that perfect piece and clearing a few lines in Tetris.
Originally developed in the '80s, we can thank Nintendo for bringing this game into our lives — for the original Game Boy alone, it sold over 35 million copies. But after licensing rights reverted back to developer Alexey Pajitnov, it went on to become the Guinness record holder for the most ported video game, available on over 65 platforms.
So yeah, you've probably played Tetris in one form or another. But did you know that those little blocks actually have a name? What are they called?

Correct Answer: Tetraminos
The answer is: Tetraminos. You can say Tetris isn’t the best game of all time, but you’d be dead wrong. Unless you know someone living on a deserted island with nothing but pineapples to play with, everyone has played at least a few games of Tetris. Next time you play and the game won’t give you that damn line piece you need, now you can properly curse the Tetris gods for not giving you the right Tetramino.Source
