Joe Pesci's Vinny Gambini might not know much about Alabama procedure, but thanks to Marisa Tomei's Mona Lisa Vito, he learns everything he needs to know about 1960s automotive engineering. The defendants were extremely unlucky to be driving a 1964 Buick Skylark in metallic mint green because the real robbers drove a 1963 Pontiac Tempest in the same color. And since both cars were produced by General Motors, the striking physical similarities felt like a smoking gun. Lucky for Vinny's cousin, Mona Lisa Vito had grown up around enough mechanics to know that just because two cars look the same doesn't mean they can make identical tire tracks.
